  • "Let's Talk" Health & Development (HTES)

“Let’s Talk (Health & Development)”: Lots of changes are happening during adolescence but you’re not alone. Join us as we have healthy chats discussing personal hygiene and how we develop and change as we go through adolescence. Gain new knowledge and make friends in the process. This presentation is geared for 3rd-6th graders. Boys and girls are able to register for the same program but will be separated into two different presentations. A parent presentation is available on April 10, so parents can review the lessons' content, meet the instructors and gain strategies and tips on how to continue the conversation at home. The title is “Let’s Talk” Parent Workshop. The presenters cover relevant topics that will prepare you into your child’s teen years. *If parents would like to look over the lesson plan, please visit https://www.etr.org/sample/?c=mpc&p=1 and register to review the curriculum where the lesson comes from. When access is gained, please search for “Puberty and Adolescent Sexual Development Discussion” under the appendixes of the digital book titled, Making Proud Choices. If your child has a conflict on the date the class is held at their school, they are welcome to join a class at another school by registering for that particular date. Parents are responsible for transportation from one site to another. There is a Parent Workshop on April 10th for parents to meet the student's instructors, learn important information about their child's health and development, and an opportunity to ask questions. Here's the link with more information and registration.
