"Build-a-World: Willy Wonka Set Design & Construction"Description: Participants will learn the story of Willy Wonka and his amazing chocolate factory and then work together in this immersive, interactive, sensory experience as they recreate the world of Wonka’s Famous Chocolate Room! Our entire world will be created from scratch out of recycled materials, teaching our youth the importance of reusing materials; rather than creating waste, create art! We will focus on teaching the importance of problem solving, critical thinking, and careful analysis through the use of Science and Technology. Youth will learn comprehensive skills such as understanding engineering, math, and working collaboratively as a team to make their dreams a working reality. Camp will include design, building, working with lights and sound to achieve their vision of this world. This is an amazing activity for children, as parents finish last minute holiday planning and shopping! The final day will include a public reception for the final hour. Part or all of the set constructed will be used in the actual stage production of Willy Wonka Jr. in January. Instructors: Bertha Cortes, Dakota Kuhlman, and Cedrick Knuth.
