Intended to boost middle school students’ reading and writing skills to advance learners to the appropriate curriculum level. Students will read and understand a variety of materials and interpret literature through listening, observing, speaking, and writing for a variety of purposes and audiences, and to develop higher critical thinking skills. They will use grammatical and mechanical conventions of language in speaking and writing. Activities will include vocabulary building activities and games, grammar lessons with games, proofreading assignments asking students to catch the errors, reading assignments with fun passages at the students’ level, and guided reading with strategy pointers for building comprehension.
