"Kid's Club is a creative, active and safe place for children before and after school"
The 7th Hour student success program is designed to help students succeed in the core areas of Math and English Language Arts through supervised homework help and essential skills instruction. In the first 45 minutes, students will work on homework, complete missing assignments, and continue their IXL progress. After a short break, students will receive assistance in planning, organization, time management, goal-setting, and agenda reviews, followed by direct instruction in note-taking, annotating text to enhance reading and comprehension skills, exam preparation, and test-taking strategies, as well as assessing individual learning styles.
Students will need to bring a snack and water, or cash, so they can purchase something from the Snack Shack at the end of the day.
Good behavior is expected and reinforced to ensure a beneficial learning environment for all students. The discipline protocol is as follows: the first offense results in a verbal warning, the second offense involves a phone call to a parent, the third offense entails a meeting with the parent and the student, and the fourth offense leads to expulsion from the program with no refund. These specialty programs rely on the respect and common courtesy of all participants, guided by the instructors, to help students achieve their individual learning goals.
