Embark on a creative and historical 5-week exploration as we guide students through five captivating lessons drawn from Art Appreciation: A Family Study. Designed to spark curiosity and deepen visual literacy, this elective spotlights major eras in art history, perfectly tailored for a short, enriching experience. Students will explore prehistoric and ancient art, medieval and early renaissance art, the Enlightenment, and the emergence of the modern era. Each week features carefully curated stories, art analysis, and hands-on activities to bring the lessons to life. Students will learn to "see" art - recognizing form, line, color, and texture - while building a bridge between historical context and personal creative expression. This course is ideal for students seeking a meaningful, narrative-rich introduction to art appreciation in a bite-sized format.
