In every class we will build a functioning model while we learn the STEM skills behind how they work and practice problem solving skills, teamwork skills, and become better communicators. Starting SoonChoir (Grade 3-6) DWES SpringDesert Willow EnrichmentWe are excited to offer the amazing musical experience of the Elementary Choir at Desert Willow Elementary School! Choir is open to all 3rd through 6th grade students. No audition is required. Elementary choir builds on skills introduced in your child's general music classroom as well as team work. New skills include the expansion of the musical concepts of rhythm, melody, and harmony. Our team of students will focus on fine tuning their vocal and auditory skills through vocal exercises, part singing, and other singing experiences. If you were in choir for the fall you do not need to purchase a new choir shirt. If you are new to choir, there is a separate link to purchase a choir shirt on the ECS site labeld DWES Choir Tshirt. It is set up as a registration. Participation Policy: Students MUST attend rehearsal regularly Please notify Mrs. Gazo with an email,wgazo@ccusd93.net or written excuse for all absences. For example, orthodontist appointments, out of town, etc… Parents must email Mrs. Gazo if your child will miss choir. Otherwise it is an unexcused absence. 3 or more unexcused absences may result in dismissal from choir or not being able to attend the rehearsal field trip. Please arrive on time. Frequent tardiness to Choir rehearsal can result in dismissal from the club (late by 10 minutes- 4 or more times). The Spring Performance is a District Choral Concert called “One Voice” where all five elementary schools, the middle and high schools come together to rehearse and sing for an amazing family performance. The performance this year will be on Apr 21, 2025 at 6:30PM. Location details will come as we get closer. Choir Expectations for all Students: Students are expected to be on their best behavior. Any violations of the school or classroom rules may result in dismissal. Students are required to wear their uniform (performance choir t-shirt and black pants/leggings) to all performances unless otherwise noted. Students are expected to participate to the best of their ability and learn their assigned musical parts. Siblings may not attend rehearsal if they are not a member of the Choir. Participation Policy Students MUST attend rehearsal regularly Students MUST attend rehearsal regularly. Students are permitted 3 absences. Please notify Mrs. Clark with an email, remind.com text, or written excuse for absences. Frequent tardiness to Choir rehearsal can result in dismissal from the club (late by 10 minutes- 4 or more times) Students are expected to be on their best behavior. Any violations of the school or classroom rules may result in dismissal. There will be an additional rehearsal on March 18, to make up for the one missed during Spring Break. All performances are mandatory. The One Voice Concert (off site) will be Monday, April 21. Parents are responsible for transportation to the site. Details will be provided at a later time. Students are required to wear their uniform (performance shirt from the 2024 Fall LMES Choir session, and black pants) to all performances unless otherwise noted.
